Dogs for adoption for this week:

We get all dogs vet checked prior to adoption to make sure that we comply to the standards required by any pet shop. All our animals are microchipped, immunised and desexed as soon as possible after they arrive. All dogs are also tested to make sure that they do not have heart worm. We have rescued and adopted out well over 1300 dogs over the last 12 years.

Sissi is a beautiful Roti Wolfhound cross whose owner is very sick. She is a sweet natured dog who when she first arrived was very timid and shy as dogs often are due to poor socialisation. She is now coming out of her shell and joining in the various activities such as swimming the dam with everyone. She loves people and can be stubborn when she chooses. She would be great with older primary aged children as she is a gentle soul. She is desexed microchipped immunised and regularly treated for parasites.

Romeo came with Jesse as they are great mates. An unlikely couple that can be split up if required but it would be lovely if they can go together. Romeo unlike Jesse is good with other dogs and loves people. He is a gorgeous dog who needs a strong owner. He is a beautiful SharPei with a wonderful loving personality, he is desexed immunised micro-chipped and regularly treated for parasites.

Miss Peppa, is a gorgeous podge. She has been a loving family dog for about 3 years, her owner lived out of town so she was not well socialised, now she is coming out of her shell. She loves playing with other dogs and going for a swim in the dam. At first she hung back from everyone, just a little shy. She is house trained and would make someone a loving companion as she now loves being with humans and sitting at your feet. She is slowly losing weight mainly due to the exercise she is getting. She is also now crate trained and happy to go with you in the car. She is like all our dogs and cats, vet checked, immunised, desexed and microchipped.

Cats and kittens for adoption this week:

We get all cats vet checked prior to adoption to make sure that we comply to the standards required by any pet shop. We have adopted out well over 1200 cats over the last 12 years and only a very very small percentage having developed any illness as a result of the change in environment but now we are being extremely careful. All our animals are microchipped, immunised and desexed as soon as possible after they arrive.

Cara is the mother of the C-team who were rescued in Maclean by a foster carer over a number of days at the end of October 2016, Cara was found in a garage as the owner was packing to move out. She had a small dog and she worried whether he might have a go at Cara and her family of very young kittens.  Cara is a beautiful friendly affectionate young mum who has bought up her young family to be the same. The whole family stayed in care until they were able to be desexed, immunised and chipped. This has now been done and they are now ready for their new homes.

Looking for gentle loving cat? Angelo came to us in a box with 2 tabby boys his black sister and his mum Annabella at the end of 2017. They had been dumped due to their owner becoming homeless we were told. They could not fend for themselves. They were covered in fleas bloated with worms and very dehydrated to point where we were not sure whether they would make it. Miraculously they have made it through with Annabella’s loving help. They have grown up to be beautiful affectionate naughty mischievous teenagers we now only have Angelo and his brother Andre left to find a wonderful loving home. They have all been chipped desexed immunised and regularly treated for parasites ready for their new homes.

Hillary is the son of Helsa who had her first litter at Townsend. Not long after Helsa arrived with the four older kittens we discovered she was pregnant again. She was too far along to do anything so in April a new litter arrived here at Happy Paws of which Hillary is one of seven born. A number of those kittens have found homes too! They have become the extended H team and are also beautiful, naughty, playful mischievous affectionate young cats ready to go to lovely new homes. They have been immunised, desexed and micro-chipped.
