Hands on History @ The Hub
Thanks to a terrific initiative by the Australian War Memorial, the Maclean High School Library recently hosted a ‘Memorial Box Experience’ for our students. Memorial Boxes are filled with real and replica uniforms, equipment, artefacts, and more, allowing students to put their hands on history.
Our Memorial Box explored the unique wartime experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and their significant contribution to Australia’s defence.
Students also listened to a presentation from the State Library and enjoyed slipping on white gloves to reconnect with the past.
