Hanabeth Luke official Grafton office opening

90 years after Dr Sir Earle Page first opened the Northern Rivers County Council building in 1932, Dr Hanabeth Luke breathed new political life into the beautiful art deco space with the official opening of her Grafton campaign office on Saturday 14th May.

Hanabeth presented the final Teal & Rust Tour event, a pre-election hoe-down and flood fundraiser, on Gumbaynggirr Country with welcome from Aunty Nita Taylor that provided a chance for Page voters to meet their independent candidate.

Guests were treated with curb side BBQ and live music from three-stringed country blues player Cigar Box Smithy and the 5-piece delight Sofiella & the Handsome Husbands who played a mix of harmony-heavy front porch folk and foot stomping hillbilly barnburners.

Hanabeth thanks everyone that attended and donated to those in our community affected by the recent floods and landslides. All donations go to @givit.aus NSW Flood Appeal.

Please join Hanabeth for her post-election day wrap party at the Rod N Reel Hotel, Woodburn, Saturday 21 May from 6pm.

Food and bar available. Live election night broadcast and music.
