Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions this week on the Old Glen Innes Road at Bawden Bridge for inspection work to be carried out.

Maintenance work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on Thursday 24 September and the 146-year-old bridge will be closed to all traffic from 9.30am to 2.30pm, weather permitting, to allow inspections to be carried out safely.

These hours have been chosen to minimise impact on bus services and motorists travelling for school and/or work purposes.

There is no short detour available during the closure, so motorists are advised to plan their journey on this day.

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and road users.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
