Can you believe we had 43 very welcome but noisy members on Friday? Our membership now totals 48 which is amazing, but I would so love to reach the 50 mark by the end of the year.
The atmosphere in the auditorium last Friday was fabulous and it does my heart good to see everyone happily interacting with each other and participating in all the activities. There are still some Day Clubs that have not been able to open as yet which is disappointing for them, but they will come back bigger and better.
Next week is “our” Friday 13th Lucky or Unlucky Day…yes, I know it will be Friday October 1, but that’s how it is…because we can if we want to! You can dress up, or dress down if you prefer, or fancy dress depicting something lucky or unlucky. Or you can bring a favorite lucky charm (or voodoo doll) for “Show and Tell”. It will of course be a fun day whatever you choose to do.
By the way, our Olympics to celebrate Veterans Health Week will be held on October 22. The Club has denied my request to have javelin and shot put on green one, and track and field events did not bode well either. Never mind, we will just stay inside, in which case those sprinters and long jumpers competing, will not be allowed to wear spikes within the club. Just joshing. Leanne has a fun program sorted and we will be divided into teams to make it even more fun.
Joan won the lucky door prize and chose the wine.
Joe won a Coles $20 voucher, and Margaret chose a “Free Day Pass”.
Barbara won the Pick-a-Box draw and went home with some lovely tea towels.
If you require further information regarding Osprey, please ring Leanne on 0413 101 518 and she will be more than happy to provide you with all the details. Also, new volunteers are always welcome to come along and see if you would enjoy sharing your abilities and community spirit with our friendly team.
