Great golf being played at Yamba

With a field of around 130 players teeing it up on Thursday for the Stableford competition scores being returned were higher than normal.

A Grade winner was the man with the Jim Furyk like swing Paul Tarasenko with 42pts from Dane Miller from Coolangatta with 41pts on a count back from John Daley.

Sid Mills was the B Grade winner with 42pts from Chris Bonner 40pts on a c/b from Keith Cromack.

In C Grade Terry Hulm retuned the score of the day with 43pts from Pat Chapman 41pts and 3rd was Ken Palich with 39pts.

Nearest to the pins were; On the SeaFire 3rd Geoff Urquhart from Windaroo Lakes at 240cm, the Peter Campbell Physio 9th was Col Lindsay at 102cm, the SeaFire 10th went to Jan Dampney at 58cm, the Yamba Barber Shop 12th was John Daley 95cm and the SeaFire 17th was Geoff Butler at 86cm.

Balls went to a massive 37 points or better for the day.

Hospital Auxiliary Charity Golf Day

With 48 players giving their time to this worthy cause some much needed money was able to be raised for our local hospital.

The winning team of the day was the team of Sam and Robert Woods, Matt and Mark Adamson who returned 55 nett giving them the win over Di Sweetman, Leslie Love, Bob Walpole and Terry Crowe with 57.75 and 3rd went to Julie Vernol Glynnis and Des Hall and Alan Syle with 58.625 nett.

Nearest to the pins were; On the 3rd Graham Howard 111cm, the 9th was Dave Bruton at 450cm, the 10th was Peter Tonkin 109cm and the 12th was Sam Woods at 216cm.
