Grants for 23 community projects

Twenty-three community projects in the Clarence and Richmond Valleys have been successful in securing funding under the latest round of the popular Community Building Partnership program, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.

“There is a total of $300,000 split between local not-for-profit groups focussed on areas as diverse as Indigenous Australians, seniors, sports, people with disabilities, recreation to name a few,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“This is a really effective use of taxpayer money because most community groups value add with in-kind labour and skills.”

The projects are:

  1. Rotary Club of Grafton Midday – Installation of park furniture near new Grafton Bridge
  2. The Mend and Make Do Crew – New community workshop space at Nymboida
  3. Nungera Cooperative Society – Youth Group bus
  4. Grafton Ngerrie Local Aboriginal Land Council – Solar panel project at offices
  5. Grafton Jacaranda Festival – Festival marquee
  6. Cowper Brushgrove Parent and Citizen Association – Sensory garden project
  7. Grafton Dog Obedience Club – New clubhouse
  8. Ulmarra Parent and Citizen Association – New shed and BBQ area
  9. Grafton Ghosts Junior Rugby League Club- New mower & whipper snipper
  10. Lawrence Historical Society – Wheelchair access to the Lawrence Museum
  11. Coldstream Community Preschool – Installation of solar panels at Preschool
  12. Lower Clarence Tennis Association – Lighting upgrade
  13. Coutts Crossing Coronation Hall – Upgrade to kitchen and installation of solar panels
  14. Baryulgil Fine Flower Campdraft – Canteen flooring refurbishment
  15. Third Sector Australia – Installation of air conditioning at Casino Oak Centre
  16. Richmond Valley Council – Fairy Hill Hall kitchen & supper room upgrade
  17. Casino Community Men’s Shed – Installation of welding fumes extractor in metalwork area
  18. Coraki  Country Womens Association – Completion of kitchen/bathroom upgrade
  19. Richmond Valley Council – New swing set for Coraki Riverside Park playground
  20. Koinonia Ministeries – New roof over commercial kitchen/dining area in hall at Evans Head
  21. St Mark’s Anglican Church Casino – Electrical upgrade in main Church hall
  22. Casino Mini Railway – New security system at historical railway site
  23. Windara Communities – New minibus for people with a disability
