Grants available to build or upgrade arts and cultural facilities in the Clarence & Richmond Valleys

Local organisations in the Clarence and Richmond valleys are now invited to lodge an expression of interest through the ClubGRANTS Category 3 program for a grant to help build or improve arts and cultural facilities in their local communities.
Clarence MP, Chris Gulaptis said under the program grants of between $100,000 and $300,000 were available, with approved applicants invited to lodge formal applications in May.
The Clarence and Richmond Valleys have a vast array of arts and cultural events and I know many of the facilities used for performances and events could benefit from an upgrade or a new building.
Mr Gulaptis said the establishment of the Category 3 program was a commitment the Liberals and Nationals made, in partnership with ClubsNSW, to the people of NSW before the 2011 election.
“Particular emphasis will be placed on projects that benefit disadvantaged and regional and remote communities in this program round,” Mr Gulaptis said.
Other funding rounds under Category 3, focusing on sports infrastructure and emergency service upgrades, have already been opened for this year with many local communities looking to benefit.
Expressions of interest are open until 18 March 2016. Successful projects must be shovel-ready to commence by 30 September 2016 and be completed no later than 30 September 2018.
