The sport of female Triathlon in the Clarence Valley has received a major boost after Yamba Multisports Club were awarded a grant from Triathlon NSW and their partner the NSW Office of Sport to continue the highly successful ‘Finish Lines Not Finish Times’ program.
Since inception 5 years ago, the Finish Lines Not Finish Times program has introduced more than 3600 women to the sport of Triathlon, with new friendships formed and lifelong memories created.
Yamba Multisports Club spokesperson Veronica Barker said they were excited secure the grant so they can continue the Finish Lines Not Finish Times program.
“We’re excited to have been successful in our application for funding from NSW Triathlon, to run another Finish Lines Not Finish Times Program,” she said.
“We’re passionate about providing a safe and supportive environment for women and girls to be able to try triathlon.
“This program, which includes coaching by an Accredited AusTriathlon coach plus the support and mentorship of our female club members, will provide the opportunity to learn the sport and then put it all together at a women’s event being help on February 16.
“Hopefully we’ll see lots of local women and girls introduced to the sport, and the amazing club community we have here.”
