Our guest presenter for April Jabberfest on April 14 at New Life Centre, Arthur Street Grafton will be U3A member Harry Jones on the topic of “Family History of Military Service”. Research undertaken by Harry uncovered a trail revealing that for almost 200 years a member of his family has participated in most of the major World Conflicts – their travels widespread and their deeds mostly meritorious. It promises to be a fascinating presentation.
Aside from our monthly Jabberfest with a guest presenter, Grafton U3A offers a range of courses/interest groups covering a wide spectrum of activities promoting learning for personal enjoyment and wellbeing. Keeping the brain active, making new friends and helping members to maximise their independence by remaining healthy and active for longer. Course and Interest Group details are available on the Grafton U3A website and the monthly newsletter “Jabber Journal” keeps members up to date. If you are considering membership of Grafton U3A and would like more information, please contact Bruce Carle on 0409 225 536.
Following the advent of Cyclone Alfred, our social outing to the Lawrence Tavern and Lawrence Museum has now been re-scheduled to Sunday June 1. Expressions of interest will be taken at April and May Jabberfests.
U3A is the University of the Third Age and a world-wide movement. It is the age of active retirement coming after the ages of youth and work and home making. University is rather a loose term as there are no academic requirements for membership and no exams and new members are always most welcome.
