Grafton Services social bowls to continue over holidays

As 2021 draws to a close, we find ourselves moving into ‘holiday mode’ for the Christmas / New Year break. Our club championships for this year are all complete, and as reported last week our joint men and ladies Christmas Party /Presentation night was a huge success.

Members and visitors to the Clarence Valley are reminded that our usual Wednesday and Friday social pairs will continue right through-out the holiday season, so if you or your visitors are looking for a game, put your names on the nomination sheets at the club main entrance during the coming weeks…. all are welcome at the G.D.S.C. Bowling Club.

Last Wednesday December 8 we had 22 players for our social pairs, with the winners P. Sutton G. Ahrens & G. Harrison. The runners up went to B. Tierney & C. Clark, while the consolation prize was won by P. Gillespie & B. Hall.  The first ‘resting toucher’ was won by C. Clark. The jackpot of $200 was not won.

On Friday December 10 we had 28 players for social pairs with the winner R. Cavanagh. Runners up were M. Formosa, D. Clarke & G. Harrison and the consolation went to C. Clark, P. Sutton and B. Gaarstead. The resting toucher prize was won by B. Gardiner.

GDSC Mens Bowling Club President Tony Lickiss and wife Ana get into the Christmas spirit at the Grafton Services Bowling Club Christmas Party.

That’s all for this week…Merry Christmas to all.
