Grafton Senior Citizens – July bus trip

Grafton Senior Citizens recently held their July coach trip to a mystery venue, on a cool winter’s day with threatening skies, with 46 passengers.

We travelled to Lawrence to visit Ross McLeod’s bell collection and enjoyed an organised morning tea, and viewed the plant nursery.

We then travelled to Casino where passengers could purchase their own lunch and then onto Casino Folk Museum, for a nostalgic look at past.

A picnic afternoon tea was then enjoyed in a local park, before our final stop at Northern Rivers Military Museum, a fairly new attraction situated in old Drill Hall. The group then travelled home.

Sincere thanks to coach captain, Alan R for a great day, all passengers for their support, committee for serving afternoon tea, and all involved in arranging and organising trip.

Our next bus trip is seven day tour to Lake Macquarie from August 16. This trip is finalised, but reserves will be noted. Final payments are due late July.

A members barbecue will be held on Monday July 22 with bookings still open, cost $10.

Enquiries and bookings for trips and special activities, at monthly meetings on the second Tuesday, or any Thursday morning at the Seniors room at the racecourse, or with tour organiser / publicity officer, Sandra on 6642 7720.

Remember, activities will be in recess for first two weeks of July during racing carnival, but enquiries can still be made with Sandra on the above number.
