Grafton Senior Citizens

Grafton Senior Citizens recently held their final bus trip for the year; an annual picnic to Mylestom, on a warm, but smokey spring day, with 32 passengers.

The day began with a drive through Coffs Harbour to Mylestom, and a picnic morning tea upon arrival.

This was followed by some games and competitions, including quoits, bowls, mystery parcel, guess the number of beads in a jar; with chocolate prizes to the winners.

After a picnic lunch there was plenty of time to relax, chat, or take a walk to view the river or ocean.

Upon departure, the group travelled to Coffs Harbour for afternoon refreshments, before the final journey home on Orara Way. From the road, we didn’t see any evidence of property damage in Nana Glen or Glenreagh, so reported damage must have been back off the road in the bush.

Sincere thanks to coach captain Alan R for another good day, and to committee and other helpers for serving food, and to all members for their support.

Tickets for the next day trip on Friday February 28 to an open garden near Bangalow, and the Ballina Maritime Museum recently went on sale, and still has plenty of spare seats.

Tickets for a day trip on March 27 to the Emmaville Mine Museum, and a nearby old mine, will go on sale at the December meeting.

Tickets for an eight day tour to Moree, St George, Cunnamulla, Charleville, Roma, Miles, Dalby, Toowoomba in August 2020 recently went on sale and has about 14 spare seats.

Members are reminded of the annual Christmas luncheon, with entertainment on Friday December 6.

Next meeting is Tuesday December 10. There is no meeting in January and the AGM is March 10, with annual fees due prior to this date.

Enquiries concerning future trips, activities, and memberships, can be made with publicity officer, Sandra on 6642 7720.
