Grafton Rifle Club field class results

A small but dedicated group of 12 shooters braced the damp conditions on Saturday for the 200 yard field class shoot. With the constant threat of showers hanging about the range it was anyone’s guess if the shoot was even going to proceed, nevertheless we made it through with only a slight mist of moisture. Top off rifle honours once again went to Nick Abrahall with another nice 100 (with 14). Nick is at the top off his game at the moment and he will be hoping it lasts for the rest of the competition year and at this rate is hard to beat. Seven Possibles were shot on the day with Nick Abrahall shooting the perfect 4, followed by Rob Durrington shooting 2 and Ben Higgins managing 1. A Grade aggregate scores – Nick Abrahall 100, Liza Georgelin 96.4, Derek Higgins 95.8, Ben Higgins 95.2, Matt Bloomer 70.4. B Grade aggregate scores – Chris McKenzie 98.6, Rob Durrington 96.4, Peter Tyrie 93.4, Jen Higgins 95.0. C Grade aggregate scores – Scott Murdoch 90, Matt Finney 67, John Baker 88.6. Next week we will be back in the Rimfire shed for the 60m rimfire shoot followed by pistols \ blackpowder, then the afternoon shoot will be from the 300 yard mound for the start of the fullbore competition year at 1pm. Our range is located in behind Koppers log’s at Junction hill with sign on starting from 8.30am with shooting commencing at 9am. Visitors and new shooters are always welcome. Rob Durrington
