Grafton Probus ten pin bowl outing

Grafton Probus Club was able to hold its July meeting in the newly renovated auditorium of the GDSC.

Colleen Wiblen was inducted into the club by President Paula Payne. Collen has previously attended a number of activities as a guest and is looking forward to future events.

Rebecca Elks from the Whidden Group gave a presentation on aged care services to the home and explained both the various types of help available and the need to complete a My Aged Care assessment to access the services.

Unfortunately, Covid restrictions forced the Christmas in July lunch to be postponed until August 3 and will now be a Picnic in the Park. Other activities this month will be book chat on August 25, games afternoon on August 27 and choc top day on August 31.

The monthly meeting will be at the GDSC on August 19. Further information can be found on the Grafton Probus meeting Facebook page.

Our games afternoons are usually centred around card and board games. But this month 22 members visited Grafton Ten Pin Bowl and enjoyed the challenge. Some of us found that experience in lawn bowls gave no advantage at all! It was also apparent that gender plays no part in a roller’s ability.

Probus is a social club for retirees. Prospective members should contact Paula Payne on 0439 325 856.
