Grafton Probus hold their AGM

The Probus Club of Grafton held its Annual General Meeting at the GDSC on March 17.

President Paula Payne was re-elected unopposed. All management committee positions were filled without the necessity of a ballot.

The following members were elected to senior positions: Vice President – Ron Payne, Secretary – Bill Greenlees, Treasurer – Barry Johnson. Also elected to the management committee were Kim Hull, Monica Jeffs, Libby Notaras, Maureen Greenlees, Pam Bonnett, Cave Steiner, Richard White, Rita Johnson and Fay See. Thank you to Arthur Lysaught from the GSDC’s Board, who chaired the election.

The club has had seven activities throughout March, with an average attendance of 16. The highlight was definitely our mid-day lunch at the Crown Hotel, which was held over the top of the Clarence River floodwaters. We were joined by a diamond python who sought safety in the shrubs next to the bistro.

Probus is a social club for retirees seeking friendship, fellowship and fun. Prospective members should contact Maureen Greenlees on 66447302. You can also check out our Facebook page.
