Grafton Probus celebrates Corky’s century

Probus was able to celebrate Corky Caldwell’s 100th birthday at our meeting on October 15. Former President and friend, Peter Curtis, made a special presentation to Corky, who did a great job of cutting his centenary cake. Although he served in the Middle East during the war, Corky obviously preferred cake to cheese! Members continue to return to our activities, with 37 members attending our monthly meeting at the Grafton District Services Club. We have also seen increased numbers at our social activities. Our Melbourne Cup luncheon has had to be cancelled, so our first social activity for the month will be a ‘choc top’ day at the Saraton Theatre on November 10, where we will view the Australian movie ‘Rams’. Our next monthly meeting will be on November 19 at 10am at the Grafton District Services Club. Prospective members are welcome. Phone Paula for more details on 6642 8797. Ron Payne
