Grafton Midday Rotary brings back the Book Sale after COVID induced rest!

Midday Rotary has responded to requests from insatiable book readers by staging the next Book Sale from November 4-7, at the Criterion Theatre. Book Sale coordinator, Grafton Midday Rotarian Peter Robinson said, “Several of our regular book sale customers have been asking when we will be holding the next sale as it has been so long since the last one and they are desperate for more books to consume.” “So, we checked through our responsibilities to conduct a COVID safe event and have set the wheels in motion for a 4-day sale from November 4 to 7. The longer duration than usual is partly to stretch out the attendances to help us keep to a maximum of 30 people in the Criterion Theatre, our sale venue. Using hand sanitizer and practicing safe distancing will be key rules to follow.” “We will have volunteers on site at all times to ensure that we comply with the COVID-19 restrictions, and to keep everyone safe. No-one with COVID symptoms will be allowed in. Masks are encouraged if people feel safer that way but are not compulsory. Everyone will have to provide their name and phone number in case contact tracing is required.” “The good news is that we have received lots of new books during the COVID book sale suspension, so there will be plenty of chances to discover something special.” “With the extra numbers of books, fresh stock will be added throughout the sale so there will be good chances to pick up books of interest over the four-day sale.” The prices have not changed: still $10 a shopping bag, and children’s books are Free! The Grafton Midday Rotary book sale aims to promote literacy and to raise funds to support the local community. Hours of operation are: 9am to 5pm on Wednesday to Friday November 4 to 6. 8.30am to 1pm on Saturday November 7. Brian Lane
