Owing to the absence of president Lyn Hayman, vice president Doreen Winkley, welcomed members to the meeting of the Grafton Floral Art Society.
Apologies were received on behalf of three members and were accepted. As Jacaranda week has been upon us, members have been scrounging foliage from neighbours’ gardens to be used at the Festival of Flowers.
The Christmas function for members and friends will be held on November 28, congregating at the Whitehouse tea rooms, at 11.30am, to be seated by 12 noon. For a contribution of $15, a delightful two course meal is presented with all the Christmas trimming. Should you desire to come along and enjoy the morning a phone call to Lyn on 0438 447 232 or Freda on 6642 1172 prior to November 21 would be appreciated. Lucky door prizes will be awarded following by light entertainment and games, just bring along a Christmas gift for exchange to the value of $5.
As the Society has been functioning for 42 years, commencing in 1977 the aim is to assist friends and families in arranging of flowers.
Flower arrangers are always on the look out for something new and one thing leads to another e.g. unusual containers or accessories, countryside seed heads or berries.
A reminder that the next meeting will be held on November 14, prior to the Christmas function on November 28.
