Last Thursday night, after a delicious dinner, we joined the rowing club at the Saraton Theatre and thoroughly enjoyed the movie ‘The Boys in the Boat’. It was a fundraiser for them, and because they allowed us to store one of our boats in their shed, we were happy to support their club.

Tracey was the coach and Bryce the sweep as we trained around Elizabeth Island last Saturday. Adam, Sid and Jacqueline Kelly joined us for their second session in the boat. Fortunately, there was a cooling breeze coming straight down the river, and Bryce tried to keep us close to the bank as this was where the shade was.

At the club meeting it was decided that, due to the heat, Saturday training would start half an hour earlier at 7:15am. This will continue until the end of February. Also, paddlers please register by 6pm the night before training as this allows the coaches time to organise the seating in the boat. Finally, paddlers need to complete a Working with Children Check and send their approval number to Nicole.
