Grafton CWA

At the meeting held in our CWA rooms Duke Street Grafton on Friday December 14 there were 18 members present. This was our final meeting for the year; we will be returning on Friday February 8.

Grafton CWA branch held our annual Christmas luncheon at the GDSC and we wish to thank the catering staff at the club for serving us an enjoyable Christmas lunch. Secret Santa was played and each member received a gift.

The Grafton CWA branch took the opportunity to make a presentation to Val Wood – her CWA Patrons badge, and a bouquet of flowers in recognition for her many years of service to CWA and her work in the community during the luncheon.

On Saturday December 15 CWA ladies held a stall at the Showground markets. We sold home cooked Christmas produce which proved to be very popular. The Christmas cake raffle was drawn and won by Narelle Rasborsek, and 2nd prize bottle of wine was won by Lesley McFarlane.

On Tuesday December 18 Val Wood and four other members were presented with a certificate which is awarded by the NSW Government to rural women for their outstanding achievements in the community as ‘Hidden Treasures’. The awards were presented by Chris Gulaptis the state National Party member. Val Wood has been honoured and recognised for her many years of service to CWA and community. We would like to congratulate Val on her achievement.

Grafton CWA Branch would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a happy New Year for 2019.
