Grafton Branch CWA members are once again unable to use the CWA Rooms.
Just when we thought that things were getting back to normal after the recent renovations and we were able to hold our last meeting there, a recent storm caused further damage to the ceiling which had already been damaged by storms over 12 months ago. Council has advised us that it is not safe to be used for any activities, there is to be minimal entry into the building and the entire roof will need to be replaced.
As a result, our Land Cookery Day on November 16 was hurriedly cancelled and will be combined with the next Cooking Day in February at a venue to be announced.
We would like to thank Major Mark for allowing us the use of the Salvation Army Hall for our December meeting on Friday, December 13, which is to be followed by our Christmas lunch. Options for an alternative meeting venue for as long as required are currently being worked through and our Handicraft mornings are at this stage unable to be held until new venues are organised.
A few members are once again packing everything up for storage, we are not yet sure where that will be. Also, venues for future events are unknown at present and will be publicised when there is greater certainty. It has been a very challenging 3 months since the start of the building renovations, but our resilient CWA ladies have shown they can cope with challenges!
