Grafton CWA get ready for Christmas

Our meeting was held at CWA rooms Friday November 13 with 20 members were present and one apology was accepted. Meeting was opened at 10am with acknowledgement to the country and reciting of the CWA motto. A report from the North Coast Group Council AGM on October 21 was presented, and congratulations were extended to Annette Douglas, Lesley McFarlane who were elected as Vice Presidents, and Narelle Saunders elected as Group Cookery Officer. Grafton Branch nomination for Medical Research for Voting into ‘Still Births’ was successful at group level and will now be presented at state level. Next North Coast group meeting will be held at Bonville Wednesday November 25. Showground Markets will be held Saturday November 21. Members are busy cooking Christmas treats, and making handicraft items, Christmas bush will also be on sale (kindly donated by Alan Redigar). In house cookery competition was held at this meeting, the first place was awarded to Sharon Davison; second place – June Neilly; third – Narelle Saunders. In house cookery competition will be held at our December meeting, with fruit cake using our own recipe. Our next meeting will be held Friday December 11, followed by a Christmas lunch at the Grafton District Services Club. Handicraft mornings are held on 2nd and 4th Monday at 9.30am at our Duke Street rooms, any ladies wishing to join to join us will be made welcome. Bring along your handicraft items enjoy morning tea good conversation and laughter. Carol Smith
