Grafton CWA Branch September meeting

Our most recent meeting was held in CWA rooms Duke Street Grafton.

President Carol Smith opened meeting with Acknowledgement to the Country, followed by CWA motto which was recited by members present. National Anthem could not be sung due to COVID restriction.

A total of16 members were present and six apologies were received, CWA Awareness week began 6th September/13th September. Theme for 2020 “Domestic Violence”. Members were asked to donate items for mothers, an item of clothing or a toy for a child or children. This hamper will be donated to the” Women’s Refuge” in Grafton when a suitable date and time can be arranged. Thank you to all our members for their contributions.

CWA Grafton received a grant for purchase of an A.R. air conditioner. This will be installed in our meeting room. Thank you, Club Grants of NSW, for this generous donation.
North Coast Group AGM will be held on Wednesday October 21 at Woolgoolga Diggers Club. COVID 19 restrictions are implemented with only two delegates from branches to attend as well as the current group officers. Grafton will be represented by Annette Douglas and Carol Smith.

Nominations from Grafton Branch 2021 to be submitted to head office are as follows: medical research: still births; country of study: Netherlands; fauna: quakka; flora: kangaroo paw; foe: feral cats.
Craft mornings: October 26 at 9.30am. Come and join us in our Duke Street rooms and enjoy a chat and morning tea you will be made most welcome.
