Grafton CWA

Grafton branch of C.W.A held our first meeting of the year on Friday February 8 at our Duke Street rooms, with 17 members present.

We welcomed two new members to our branch, Narelle Saunders at our December meeting and Wendy Proud at our February meeting, both members received their C.W.A. badges.

On Saturday March 2, C.W.A. will be holding a handicraft education day with Barbara Roberts in our rooms at Duke Street. Invitations have been sent out to C.W.A branch members who wish to attend this workshop. If you are a novice at handicraft or you are proficient all are welcome and Barbara will be able to answer your questions. Morning tea will be supplied by Grafton branch, lunch may be purchased at Shopping World or bring your own lunch; $5 admission fee for morning tea.

North Coast Group and handicraft competition day will be held at Sawtell on March 6; our members will be cooking and finalising their handicraft for judging. Those members who are successful will be eligible to enter their cooking and handicraft for the final judging at the state conference at Albury in May.

Our next stall will be held at the Grafton Showground Saturday March 16. We will be selling our cookery produce, handicraft, and various other items.

Our raffle this time will be a Mother’s Day basket prepared by one of our members, and will be drawn on Tuesday April 16 at our fashion parade in conjunction with Black Pepper, as a fund-raising event for C.W.A.

Our next meeting will be held in our rooms in Duke Street on Friday March 8; anyone who wishes to become a member of C.W.A. can make further enquires to Sharon Davison on 0409 363 248 and we will make you most welcome.

Our handicraft friendship mornings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 9.30am. Come and join us and enjoy morning tea and a chat.
