Grafton CWA

Not long now until Jacaranda Thursday (Thursday November 2), when we hope to see lots of people at our Jacaranda Morning Tea which starts at 9am. This will be held in CWA Rooms at the corner of Market Square, which is where all the festivities are taking place. Cost is $8, cash only.

Visitors last year enjoyed being able to sit down, cool off and relax for a while and enjoy a delicious morning tea. We will also be having a stall with our cooking and handicraft and look forward to seeing lots of people. Our raffle will be drawn after the Morning Tea, watch out for our members selling tickets at the shopping centres before then. 1st Prize – Coles and Woolworths gift cards totalling $150; 2nd Prize – a beautiful handmade wooden Lazy Susan, made and donated by John McMahon- thank you John; 3rd Prize – a CWA cookbook, CWA tea towel & box of chocolates. Tickets are $2 each and the raffle will be drawn after the Morning Tea.

Our last meeting was held on October 13, following the AGM. During the meeting we listened to an interesting Cultural report about the Jacaranda Festival and heard about displays in the Grafton Regional Gallery. We also finished organising the details of our morning tea and raffle and planned our Christmas lunch. Meetings of Grafton Branch are held on the 2nd Friday of each month in CWA rooms, cnr Duke and Pound Streets. New members are always welcome. Craft mornings are held on 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, starting at 9.30am. Bring your own craft and enjoy meeting new people, having a chat and a cuppa.
