Grafton Clay Target Club
Our first shoot for 2016 was conducted in very warm but excellent conditions with no wind and only a small amount of high cloud. Shooters seemed to be happy to be back to their favourite sport after the Christmas break and ready for another year of breaking clays, and although some were still away, four full squads faced up to the first Club Championship of the year that being a 50 target Single Barrel Championship.
At the end of the event, two visiting shooters were tied on 49/50 those being John Cunningham from the Dorrigo Club and Phil Westbury from the Richmond River Club. The resulting shoot only went to 7 targets when Phil missed his target, leaving John to take home the Championship sash.
Phil had his revenge at the end of the day by taking out the High Gun with a score of 98/100 a really commendable effort.
