Grafton Branch UHA host Regional Forum

We have recently hosted a very successful UHA Regional Forum at the GDSC. Thank you to all the branches that attended, unfortunately the recent bad weather prevented some branches from travelling to Grafton. Grafton Branch President Kerrie DiMattia was thrilled to welcome everyone to Grafton and invited Regional Representative Jennifer McKellar to chair the meeting. State President Sally Cronberger and Dee Hunter updated us all with latest UHA information and procedures. All very informative, thank you. Guest speaker Kay Paine retraced the history of the Grafton Base Hospital right back to the 1800s. As a former Director of Nursing at GBH, author of ‘History of Grafton Hospital’ & ‘History of Grafton Jacaranda Festival’, Kay has lots of stories to tell. Second guest speaker June Allen, spoke about the highlights of Grafton and the Clarence Valley. June is a true Graftonian having been a Jacaranda President then a Life Member as well as a Life Member of the Grafton Hockey Association. Both ladies also share the honour of having been Jacaranda Matron of Honour, two worthy representatives of our town and great supporters of Grafton UHA. After a delicious lunch, all the branches gave a report on their own branch. We all share the same goal of raising funds for the hospitals and health facilities, but it was very interesting to share fund raising ideas. After the meeting we had the pleasure of showing our visitors our Clothing & Collectable Shop and they enjoyed a bit of shopping. Thank you to everyone who attended our Regional Forum, official guests and speakers and the representatives of the other Branches and a big thank to our Grafton members for putting together a great day.
