Go to school, learn to fish. How good is that?

Chatsworth Island, Iluka, Yamba and Nymboida Public School kids can look forward to free Get Hooked…It’s Fun to Fish workshops in the coming weeks courtesy of the NSW Government, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced. “Traditionally, kids learn to fish from their dad or big brothers but that is not always an option, so I think this program is a terrific idea,” Mr Gulaptis said. “We have some of the best fishing spots in the world at our doorstep so it makes sense to take advantage. “It is not just about the best way to reel in a big one but also about showing kids where their food comes from and teaching them about responsible fishing, water pollution and fish habitat management,” Mr Gulaptis said. The Get Hooked…It’s Fun to Fish program is run using funds from the Recreational Fishing licences. Details of the workshops are below.
