Members of the Glenreagh Progress Association will be invited to meet Clarence Valley councillors so they can outline a plan to take over the management and operation of the 60-year-old Glenreagh pool.
Councillors last week considered a submission from the progress association to take on the management of the pool and adjacent tennis courts.
In April 2017 council introduced efficiency measures to meet the NSW Government’s Fit For the Future sustainability program, one of which was to review the operations of the pool, with a view to sell or lease it long term.
Under those arrangements, the Glenreagh pool would close on June 30 this year.
However, members of the Glenreagh Progress Association have approached council officers with a proposal for the ongoing management of the pool and will now have the opportunity to present that proposal to the elected councillors.
A report prepared for council said it was in generally good condition.
