Giving back to the Community

On April 5, Jacaranda Embroidery Group Inc donated $2000 to Love Your Sister, a charity set up by Samuel Johnson and his sister Connie in 2012. Connie died in 2017 with terminal breast cancer. Our donation was in conjunction with the Aces for the Community – 12 Hour Marathon inspired by Darren Crispin and the Junction Hill Tennis Club. Fighting breast cancer is a cause very close to Darren’s and our hearts.

We also donated $3000 to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and $1000 to the CWA Disaster Fund.

These funds are the proceeds from our 2024 Exhibition, Dinner at Six, which was held at the Christ Church Cathedral Hall during the last Jacaranda Festival.

$220 from our members in lieu of a Secret Santa gift was also donated to the CWA Disaster Fund.
