Girls with Rhythm head to South Grafton

cvi   Fresh from Memphis USA, Australian blues guitarist Fiona Boyes and Clarence Valley songstress Anaya Reimer are the featured guest at next week’s Clarence Valley Women and Business Network pop up meeting. “We are so excited to be hosting these two amazing musicians at our meeting and while they might be miles apart in ages they are united in their passion for music which is what will make this an amazing night for all to come and listen to their conversations” Debrah Novak said who is group facilitator for the Facebook group. Fiona Boyes who lives in Yamba has been a musician for 25 years and is just back from the 2016 USA Blues Music Awards where she was nominated for the Koko Taylor Award (Traditional Blues Female). The Blues Music Awards are universally recognized as the highest international accolade afforded blues performers. Meanwhile local singer song writer Anaya Reimer at just 14 has just begun her music career and has released her second EP recently. Ms Reimer has been performing for over 18 months at events and venues throughout the Clarence Valley. “We really like to offer an alternative business forum for our members which definitely doesn’t follow traditional platforms like the Chambers of Commerce. Even this event offers those who are thinking about a career in music the opportunity to come and talk to an expert from with in the industry. We are pretty excited to our women’s business group now has 325 members which is exciting when you consider we only began 6 months ago” Ms Novak said. The event is being held in South Grafton at the Naked Bean Cafe on Wednesday, 8th June from 5.50pm. It’s their open mic night so who knows what will happen! Cost is $5 and food is on top of entry.
