GDSC take District Fours

I am pleased to start this week by being able to congratulate Gary Harrison, Gregg Maxted, Robbie Power and Allan Knox who won this years District Open Fours. After a pretty even start to the game against the Yamba team, the GDSC side took control of the game and ran away to a fairly dominant win, 23 to 8. Unfortunately, the two sides playing in the Reserve Fours at Wooli didn’t win their way through to the finals. Both teams won their first games only to be beaten by four in the semi finals.

The District Singles have also started, with only a few surviving the first two rounds. Good luck in the next rounds and we hope you have lots of success.

Friday had 34 players rolling them down on the GDSC greens. The days winners prize was won by T McMillan and B Hall, with M Cook and B Gaarsted taking the runners up prizes. The lucky losers prize went to the players from the fours game, R Shorten, S wall, D Moran and H Gibson. M Cook claimed the Tony’s Handyman and Home Maintenance resting toucher prize with an early time of 9:17

Wednesday saw 30 players at the GDSC, with some good games being played. Winners were S Wall and B Gaarsted, with J Dougherty and R Madden coming out as runners up, whilst T Glass and R Wilson were the days lucky losers. There was only one good bowler on the day, so the Tony’s Handyman and Home Maintenance went to B Elder who recorded the only two resting touchers on the day.

The Club singles draw has been posted so make sure you get down to the club and check the board for your name. There are lots of games coming up, including the finals of the District Reserve Singles so make sure you get there to support the players.
