GDSC swimmers Presentations in May

Jill Enks and John Wainwright were on the injured list last week but came along to time keep which was a great help, speeding up proceedings tremendously.

David Moon, Doug Ensbey, Richard Sear and Natalie Durrington qualified for the 25m freestyle, and they turned on one of the closest finishes yet.

Natalie was first to touch, followed by Richard and then David but a check on times had them all breaking, with only .18 separating all three.

Doug was next home and with a fabulous time of 20.09 off a nominated 21 took the well-deserved win.

Three ladies, namely Yvonne Shorrock, Anne Simkus and Toni Ensbey lined up with Damien O’Mahony for the final of the 50m event.

In another close finish, Damien was awarded the win, just edging out Yvonne. Anne wasn’t far away and took third place and Toni, still trying to find form, was placed fourth.

In the 25m B B &B event Steve Donnelly, Doug Ensbey, Andrew Madden and Natalie Durrington were hoping to score a win.

Doug found super speed in this race, touching first but busting by over two seconds. Steve was next home but also broke his time by over a second.

Natalie was next to touch and was relieved to hear that her time was spot on, taking the win from Andrew who had to be happy with second place but only missing out by .12.

A reminder to members that our presentation night is being held on May 28 at the GDSC so please mark your diaries accordingly.
