I would like to start off by congratulating Matty Shorten, Derek Wood, Paul Goratschow (sub) and Tom McDonald who became the Zone Reserves fours Champions on Sunday at Yamba, there was even word that they played so well in the first game that their opponents didn’t show up for the second game and commiserations to Terry Hardy and Ian McDonald who were just beaten on the last end by one shot. The club triples was also played on Sunday at the GDSC and the semi-finals are nearly decided. The team skipped by J Pye booked their place with a win over T Lickiss’s team by the barest of margins. They will face off against A Knox who was just a little too strong for B Martin’s team winning 23-19. R Grant and co will face off against the winner on K Garner and T McDonald after defeating M Walsh 21-12. The Pennants sides didn’t have much success this weekend with both the 3’s and 6’s going down in their matches over the weekend. With one week to go, there is still a chance that a Pennant can still come to the GDSC. Remember that one of the Greens will be coming up to be replaced very soon so get to the GDSC so get in on Wednesdays and Fridays and enjoy some bowls. Leith Basset
