Saturday saw the long awaited clash of two top bowlers in our club M Walsh/G Maxted for the A Grade Open Club Singles Championship. It was Greg coming out on top with his short ends game plan and display of draw bowls, but it took 38 ends to overcome Mark 31 to 24, congratulations to both player for a great game. This final Club Open Fours was played also long awaited with another close game all the way to see G Harrison/R Robinson/R Power/A Knox get on top of D Brown/K Morrissey/W James/R Ulrick 22-18, you have to say well done to both teams. Also a game of Open Club 2 Bowl Triples Championship was played with very long odds favourites K Garner/K Landrigan/K McWaters scrambling over the line 19-17 against new bowlers to our club K Essex/W Essex/R Payne, just goes to show what talent we have in our club, we done all. Saturday our No 7’s finished the year with a 9/1 defeat at Yamba but we have unearthed some great new players this year and all looks well for next season, well done to all who played this year.
