From the President the Pelican Playhouse

The past couple of years have been extremely tough for everyone; and while we at The Pelican Playhouse can’t really complain, we can reflect on our challenges and achievements.

Here is a sample…We’ve had some significant building maintenance, key changes to the way we operate, plenty of cancelled touring musicians, a very empty theatre and a production shut down in its last weekend!
But we’ve also shifted to online ticketing, found new audiences and new theatre makers, introduced eftpos at our bar, had patrons generously donate their ticket sales, mounted two amazing productions and seen some incredibly talented music performers on our stage.
And all of this due to the hard work of our members, cast, crew, volunteers and committee members. I’d especially like to thank everyone on the committee: Angela Clarke, Karla Hubbard, Suzanne Campbell, Amanda Ryder and Misty Fisher. And a special thanks to our outgoing committee members Kris Edwards and Kate Joseph.
And following our AGM last week, we are excited to welcome new committee members: Mareia Cowper, Bronwyn Gell &
Jennifer Power-Geary
We are part of a wonderful community here. Creators and audience alike. Live performance has a magical way of bringing people together to face all kinds of challenges. It has been a remarkable two years and we still have a lot to rebuild, develop and improve. But I can confidently say: together, we’ve got this.
See you in 2022!
