Four assaulted in Yamba home invasion

Four people have been treated for injuries at hospital suffered in a home invasion at Yamba last week.

The Clarence Valley Independent received information from the public about a suspected home invasion and robbery at Yamba, and NSW Police were asked a number of questions about the alleged incident.

Coffs Clarence Police District Detectives confirmed an aggravated break and enter occurred and four people were assaulted during the alleged incident.

“About 12am on Tuesday the 27th of August 2024, police attended a home on Kohler Drive, Yamba, following reports of an aggravated break and enter,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

“On arrival, officers attached to Coffs Clarence Police District were told a man and woman – both aged 77 – were assaulted by two to three people.

“Two other residents of the property – two men aged 43 and 49, were also assaulted.”

Police said all four people were treated for minor injuries sustained in the robbery at a local hospital.

“A stolen vehicle believed to be used in the break and enter was allegedly used in a second aggravated break and enter at a premises on Pacific Avenue, Angourie,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

“The vehicle was pursued by police after it was seen leaving the property; however, the vehicle was last sighted near Palmers Island.”
