On Thursday April 4, around 58 Maclean High Students attended the Close the Gap Day at Wherret Park Maclean.
The purpose of the event is to educate and create awareness of the Close the Gap program to all youth within the Clarence Valley. Closing the gap is about community and government working together to achieve equality in all aspects of health, education, employment and justice.
It was a fantastic day and the students got a lot out of the presenters including Aboriginal role model and NRL star Cody Walker and some of his mates.
The students enjoyed a BBQ lunch, yarning circles, stalls, and activities.
