First up player takes the win at Maclean Braves

July 14 was a beautiful day on the MCGC where we played a fairly low scoring Stableford event on the first nine.

Welcome to the fold was our winner, first timer and low marker (4) Fraser Marsh who showed how much he loves golf and the course. With his enormous drives he carved up the course with some very steady golf, carding a respectable 17 points despite all the distractions. Second equal were John Hopkins & Gary Taylor. All three players were awarded bottles of fine wine for their efforts… needed for these cooler nights and cold morning starts.

Using our own hands-free method (the Bragg system) of measuring, we gave nearest the pins prizes to; John Hopkins (chocolates) on the 2nd and Gary Taylor on the 7th (Yamba Cinema pass).

Work is under way on the new improved golf-cart shed. The footings and slab site have been already prepared. We can’t wait to see the finished product and move our carts back in.

Larger than usual numbers of golfers have been turning up for games at the club. Come and join us for some golfing fun every Tuesday at 8.30 – 9am for tee off.
