Ferry Park July Artist of the Month

Ferry Park Artist of the Month for July is Michelle Kempnich who has been an exhibitor since May 2023.

Michelle describes her creative journey, “As a child growing up in Maclean, I learned to crochet from my mum and my nana, Ellis Bridger, who was a prominent member of the Maclean community and an avid exhibitor of artwork and handicrafts through the Maclean CWA and the Maclean Show.

I enjoy many forms of creative crafts, but I derive the most pleasure from crochet. Doing this with my hands is a form of therapy and relaxation. I love making a variety of enduring, practical items that people can express themselves with and get pleasure from. I get the most satisfaction from instilling my energy in my pieces, going beyond arts and crafts to connect with the people they are made for.”

Lower Clarence Arts and Crafts Association Inc (LCACA) is a Not-for-Profit community organisation promoting, and showcasing artisans of the Clarence Valley.

LCACA opened Ferry Park Gallery in 1993 for members to display and sell their work. LCACA welcome new members to join us as an exhibitor or volunteer to work in our gallery.

Ferry Park Gallery is on Big River Way, and easily accessed from the Maclean Interchange on the Pacific Motorway. The Gallery is managed by our members and open 7 days from 9am-4pm.
