Fair Butchers hair-erasing MOvember fundraiser

Lynne Mowbray | The Fair Butcher Yamba and Maclean have come up with a novel way to fundraise for this year’s MOvember. Owner Chris O’Connor said that the decision for this year’s MOvember theme was decided over a few beers. “We nominated one of our staff members Sean Postle to volunteer to have his chest waxed, if we can raise over $500 in loose change donations between both our stores,” Chris said. A bemused Sean said that he was ‘reluctantly willing to participate’ however as it is for a great cause, he agreed to the nomination. “In addition to the donations tins that are available at our stores for Sean to achieve his $500 chest wax challenge, we will also be running other promotions throughout the month of November, starting with $1 from every kilo of thin BBQ sausages sold for the first week in November being donated to the cause,” said Chris. Chris said that they really wanted to promote awareness for men’s health issues; including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. “We hope that the community can get behind MOvember and help to raise funds and awareness for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives and we would love for everyone in our community to pop in and say g’day to the boys and have a chat” Chris said. “Together we can make a difference and raise awareness for men’s health – and most importantly let everyone know it is okay to talk.”
