Despite heavy showers on Sunday, the community were out and about to check out the equipment and services on display at the inaugural Lower Clarence Emergency Services Expo at Ford Park, Yamba.

The free event provided information for the public, regarding just about every aspect of what our emergency services cover, in their effort to keep their community safe.

The Surf Rescue performed rescue demonstrations in the river beside the park, while the Yamba Fire+ Rescue NSW performed a controlled fire display, showing the danger of using water to put out a cooking oil fire.

There were plenty of giveaways for everyone and the SES’s Paddy Platypus was there to say hello to the youngsters.

The Emergency Expo provided a great opportunity for the community to meet our wonderful local emergency services personnel.
