Earth Matters – climate action one step at a time

The latest science from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change IPCC) and other bodies are unequivocal: to avoid catastrophic climate change, the world needs to slash emissions by 2030 and hold global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius or less.

The Climate Reality Project is a response to the climate emergency we are facing. It aims to develop a global solution by making urgent action a necessity across every level of society.

In our next Earth Matters session, North Coast Climate Reality Leader, Judi Summers of Lismore, assisted by Annie Kia, outlines this timely Project. Their presentation discusses climate impacts in Australia as well as climate change solutions and adaptations in our country. Importantly, the Project encourages individuals and communities to pressure their leaders (Local, State and Federal) to reach and increase our Paris Agreement targets.

Earth Matters will be held in the Staffroom at Grafton Primary School, Queen Street Grafton from 5.30 – 7pm on Monday September 16.

There will be time for questions and discussion. Refreshments will follow.
