Men’s Major Singles Championship

The contest has been run and won, with a familiar face taking the title. Doug Starr played his good mate Jim Mills in the final as it was a battle of the bowling arms. After it was all done it was Doug who took the honours in a tightly contested match 31/25 over Jim.

Both had hard games in their semi-finals with Jim defeating a previous champion in Des Johnson 31/27. While Doug fought hard to overcome the ever improving and consistent John Hupfield 31/29.

Doug now moves on to compete in the Champion of Champions event later in the year to represent Maclean against other area club champions.
