Do you like driving and meeting new people?

Do you have some free days to help people connect? Read on, we may have a volunteer opportunity tailor made for you!

‘Connect You Too’ is calling for volunteers to support their Clarence Community Transport service. More than ever, community members who are unable to drive themselves are relying on volunteers to help them get to important medical appointments and social events.

Do you have your own car that would be suitable for elderly people to access easily? If you live in Grafton, South Grafton, Yamba or Maclean, Connect You Too would love to hear from you. Even if you live in an outlying area, please still call us on 6645 3200 as we may match you up to drive someone who lives nearby.

“We are taking people to their specialists, hospitals, community health, renal dialysis and many other types of medical services” said Kerry Little, General Manager at Connect You Too. “It is so vital that we have these volunteers supporting our older members of the community”.

“I’ve loved it, it’s about socialising, getting out of the house and meeting people. I feel like I’m doing something worthwhile, helping someone else, I love it.” Mary Moran CU2 volunteer driver of 21years

Mark Pearce, CEO of Volunteering Australia points out that “whilst people are returning to volunteering, it’s not in the numbers we had hoped for … but the need for volunteering remains strong.” He added that 43 per cent of organisations that rely on volunteers are experiencing an increase in demand for their services. Connect You Too is certainly finding that more people are calling on us to get them to appointments.

If you think you can help by being a volunteer driver, or have any questions, please call our friendly staff on 6645 3200.
