Disappointment as State Pennant finals again rescheduled

The Bowls NSW 2021 State Pennant finals have been rescheduled for the third time and are now programmed to be held from October 15-17. Unfortunately, the new scheduling has made it impossible for either the Yamba and Maclean Bowling Clubs to co-host the Grade 4 finals and these will now be hosted by the West Dubbo and Dubbo-Macquarie Clubs.

The Yamba Grade 3 side is still scheduled to travel to Northmead to contest their finals program. Hopefully, the finals will not have to be moved again and the Yamba delegation can attempt to go one better than 2019, the last time the finals were played, were when they were runners-up in a keenly contested finals series.

There are a few new faces in this year’s squad, but the desire to represent the club at the highest possible level still rages amongst this skilful and committed group.

The 2021 club Minor Pairs Championship will commence this Saturday August 7, with rounds one and two to commence at 9am and 1pm respectively. Nominations close on Wednesday following social bowls. Nominations for the Mixed Pairs Championship will close the following week, Wednesday August 11.

Mixed social bowls last Sunday was a great afternoon with 42 bowlers taking to the greens for a session of incentive-based triples under near perfect conditions. Thank you to all participated.

The club will host the Past Presidents on Sunday August 8 with mixed social bowls commencing at 9.30am. All members, visitor’s and families are welcome to participate in this activity. The nomination sheet is on the bowls bench.

Men’s social bowls continues on Wednesday and Friday. All games commence at 1pm and nominations can be made by phoning the bowls office on 6646 8669 or by recording participation details on the nomination sheet adjacent the bowls office prior to 11.30am on the intended day of play.
