Dearly beloved, you win again

If you asked several brides and grooms if they could recommend a great venue to host a wedding in the Clarence Valley, they’d reply, “I do.”

After being voted the Best Wedding Venue Golf Club in the Mid North Coast region at the Brides Choice Awards for the third consecutive year in April, the Yamba Golf and Country Club have definitely put a ring on it when it comes to making brides happy. The award winners were voted by bridal couples who exchanged vows within the past 12 months and included several locations from Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Yamba.

Function’s coordinator Eryn Hammond is extremely proud of the Yamba Golf and Country Club’s most recent achievement, and said it is great that “our little club can compete with larger venues.” “It makes the award all the more meaningful for us, and to win for a third consecutive year just shows our determination and ability to provide consistent quality service under any circumstances,” she said. “Everyone here is over the moon.” Despite the Covid-19 pandemic severely impacting the hospitality industry, Ms Hammond said the Yamba Golf and Country Club has hosted 20 weddings within the last 12 months, including one every consecutive Saturday since the end of February this year. The venue conducts between 15 and 30 weddings annually and has been hosting special days for couples for more than 50 years.

“I think the combination of our beautiful location, our awesome team and our volunteers that go above and beyond for our wedding parties, delicious food and beverage options, the large list of services we offer and overall, the welcoming energy instilled into the venue since day one truly makes the Yamba Golf and Country Club a great and memorable place to host a wedding,” Ms Hammond said. “I think the absolute best thing is getting to know so many different newlyweds and their families over the 12 plus months of planning their wedding, then seeing it all come together with everyone celebrating so much love and happiness for each other under the one roof, it really fulfils my heart and makes every ounce of the hard work worth it.” Ms Hammond said everyone at the Yamba Golf and Country Club is super excited and more than ready for the 2022 wedding season.

She also wished to acknowledge her predecessor Louise Sundvall, and said the venue received the award in large part due to her outstanding efforts. “She created some truly memorable weddings during her time with us and this win is every part hers as it is ours,” she said
