As soon as you say we have suffered enough with the unnecessarily lengthened hot afternoons, the dim wits come out and insult your intelligence with comments about fading curtains.

Up here we have tropical heat. It was bad enough before, then it was ‘temporarily’ extended for the Olympic Games 20 years ago. Four months would be absolutely plenty.
