CWA Chatsworth Island have morning tea with the alpacas

cvi   Last month saw the branch enjoy an outing to the Cardiff Alpaca farm in Harwood. What a pleasant morning was had with Rob Werry catering for the morning tea before giving us an in depth commentary of how they breed these animals for the production of the fleece. The Alpacas were bought in the yard so that we could feed them. A demonstration of cleaning and carding the wool had some of the ladies having a go. There was a table of saleable items plus skeins of wool if you were up to making something yourself. July is our busy month and we had our annual cent auction with the hall filled with ladies from near and far and two brave gentlemen. Morning tea and lunch was catered for. Many prizes were made by the members. This day is very popular and bookings were made for the following year as they left the hall. This is a day where we raise money for both local organization and the CWA. Our next monthly meeting is on the 3rd August at the Chatsworth Hall beginning 9.30 with a cuppa for the meeting to start at 10am followed by a shared lunch then an afternoon of craft and chatter. This month we will be bringing our UFOs (unfinished objects). Members of the public are most welcome to join us. For enquiries ring Anna Bransdon 6645 3218.
